Church of St. Matthew in the Piazza San Matteo in Soarta Soarta, Medici Lungarno - Pisa 050-543237 The facade of the church, by the Pugliani, one of the most classic and beautiful architecture of the seventeenth century shows, the side of the Arno river bank, several phases of construction dating from the eleventh and twelfth centuries. The interior was recently renovated, contains the time with St. Matthew in heavenly glory, one of the most interesting examples of Baroque and Pisa by brothers Melani. Other paintings, frescoes and stucco work were made by famous artists of this era and illustrate the life and works of the saint.
