The Walls and Towers
The Walls and Towers Bientina Ubicazionetorre Paracintolo Mora and tower: the tower of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II Giglio: Via XX Settembre Note: the towers are only visible from the street and are privately owned. Description The walls were to appear with great stateliness Bientina for their elevation and the high defensive capacity of the large gap under that surrounded them. There were four roads leading to the fortified village, roughly corresponding to the four cardinal points. The tower at the west corner of the square now named after Vittorio Emanuele II, was called the Tower of Paracintolo; the walls in a straight line to the south-east were also bounded by a tower called La Mora, and continued, after passing the break at the town's streets (made in order to circulate more air during the outbreak in 1820), along the south-east towards the pentagonal tower called the Giglio. Under this tower was a large well located, very deep. The wall then turns drawing a right angle to the head to make another tower, now recognized as the oldest tower of the fortress. From here, the walls came back to the west, the tower of Paracintolo, closing the entire circle, but it is very likely that there were other towers in the delimitation of curtains in between.
