The village of La Leccia-Leccia Castelnuovo Val di Cecina The village and castle of La Leccia are isolated on a hilly outcrop located between the river Cornia and Cecina valley, surrounded by forests of cork oaks and holm oaks. The history of this village is linked to that of Volterra, particularly the disputes between the municipality and the bishops of Volterra. Today La Leccia maintains the appearance of an ancient village, with ancient buildings and remains of a tower with cylinder located in the western spur of its walls.
